E-Filing (CM/ECF) Information

For information about efiling, please see 11th Cir. R. 25-3 Electronic Case Files (ECF) System.

All counsel must file documents electronically using the Electronic Case Files ("ECF") system, unless exempted for good cause. Although not required, non-incarcerated pro se parties are permitted to use the ECF system by registering for an account at www.pacer.gov.

ATTENTION ATTORNEY FILERS

An Attorney Filer who represented a party below must file an Appearance of Counsel Form prior to any action being taken on a motion or other filing.

An Attorney Filer must file an Appearance of Counsel Form at least two days prior to filing any other document in the case. This is necessary because the Appearance of Counsel Form must be processed by the clerk before the ECF system will accept other e-filings by that Attorney Filer.

Please note that every e-filing requires time for processing by the clerk and possible submission to the court. Do not expect a motion or other filing to be acted upon within a certain period of time.

Pursuant to 11th Cir. R. 26.1-1(b), the electronic filing of a Certificate of Interested Persons (CIP) in ECF does not relieve an Attorney Filer of the requirement to also complete and keep updated the web-based CIP on the Court's web site. To complete the web-based CIP, counsel must obtain from the clerk an Eleventh Circuit EDF identification number which is independent of PACER and ECF login accounts. See 11th Cir. R. 26.1-1(b).
